Filling vs. crown - whats best?

Q: At my last dental check-up I was advised that one of my molars needs a root canal fillings. The dentist said that I can have either a filling or a crown fitted to the tooth. What is the best thing to do?

A: For most teeth a crown is the better option, as a crown offers protection against fractures and further damage.  This especially applies to back teeth, which have to withstand a significant amount of biting force.  A crown is also a great solution for front teeth that have darkened or look unnatural.

At DentalcareWest we have the lastest crown technology available.  Using our CEREC machine we take a 3D digital image of the tooth and have a new crown made for you within the hour!  This means less injections, less visits, and less discomfort without a temporary crown.
